    Description

    I just purchased a collection of Japanese obi sashes and kimonos at a local estate here in Central Virginia.  This auction is for a heavy silk brocade obi, featuring a repeating pattern of the crane of happiness,drums horns and pipes in dramatic tones of red, rust, blue and black on a cream background.  There are accents of grey and white interwoven in the pattern as well as heavy gold and silver threading for the
    full length of 13 1/4 feet, ending in a 3 1/2" gold border.  The obi is 12" in width.  The obi's lining  has been removed and needs to be replaced. It is in excellent vintage condition, except that it needs to be resewn.
    It has been folded as stored. I have little experience with these beautiful pieces of art, but am happy to a
